Our Process
01
Initial inquiry
My first engagement with you will be to ask you to summarise what is it you’re looking for – whether it be to come to New Zealand on a temporary or permanent basis – and the purpose of your visit and stay. It would also be important to include whether you are only applying for yourself, or whether other family members (such as your spouse/long term partner or children) are included. I will encourage you to put this into an email, as I need a robust record of our dealings to meet our professional Code of Conduct. This first piece of information from you will be my first introduction to you and your situation.
03
Written agreement
If you commission me to manage your visa application, I will formalise this with a written agreement which will cover what services I will deliver, the expected timelines for each, and what you can expect these to cost. All ongoing engagement with me after this is rigorously confirmed in writing. This is to ensure that there is no room for misunderstanding any material information that we have discussed.
05
Submitting your application
Once all the pertinent documentation has been gathered and reviewed, I will lodge your application and supporting documentation with Immigration New Zealand. During their assessment/review of your application, it's possible that INZ may request additional information, or identify information that may be potentially prejudicial to your application. I will work with you to respond to these requests.
While your application is being processed by INZ, I will continue to give you updates.
07
Additional visa requirements
It's possible that your immigration journey is not complete at this stage - for instance your application might have been for a temporary visa, with a view to permanent residence. If you are happy to engage my services for this next stage we will enter into a new arrangement/written agreement once more.
02
Prelimin
The next step will be to arrange a consultation call. This will be a conversation with you (and your spouse if they are included) where we will spend most of the time covering some more detail about you which would be pertinent to Immigration New Zealand. At this stage I may suggest some visa options that we could explore. This call, and the written assessment that follows, are at no charge.
Subsequent to this consultation I will email you with a confirmation of material facts that we discussed and include my assessment of what pathways you could consider. I will also provide you an indication of the next steps could be should you choose to engage me as your immigration adviser.
04
Gathering the necessary information
In all visa applications detail, and evidence in particular is crucial to giving INZ the full picture of who you are, and what you will be contributing to New Zealand. It also manages immigration risk, which would also naturally be of interest to INZ. In the early stages you might find the level of paperwork arduous, however the more we gather to address both of these factors, the more we alleviate the need to be doing this later in the process when time is of the essence.
06
INZ application decision
When INZ have made the decision regarding your application, I will be notified and will in turn be in touch with you to let you know.
Since this will be the final step in the process of your application, I will close your file and return any documentation still in my possession to you.
The processes detailed here are just an overview and by no means exhaustive. The depth of each of these stages will be covered with you when we start out engagement process.
